Mobius Awarded Phase 1 STTR

Alexandria, VA (August 2025) - Mobius was awarded a Phase 1 Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR)  with the U.S. Space Force, Space Development Agency (SDA) to enable technology expansion, validate proposed approaches through demonstration, and foster synergistic collaboration to enhance satellite security and resilience of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA), which provides a constellation of hundreds of satellites in Low Earth Orbit capable of delivering real-time support to the warfighter.

Working with our partners, University of North Dakota (UND) and Parsons Government Services (Parsons), Mobius will build the concept for an operations center environment that will serve as a platform to teach operators and space systems engineers about satellite operations. Through this STTR, we will establish methods and capabilities to facilitate knowledge transfer to support the use of advanced technology in the PWSA satellite systems within SDA and the broader space community.

The Exponential Factor of Investing in People to Maximize Social Impact

When I met Carrie Rich, founder of The Global Good Fund and co-author of the Wall Street Journal best seller “Impact the World: Live Your Values and Drive Change as a Citizen Statesperson,” her vision for creating social impact through investing in people resonated with me on a deeply personal level. We spent an incredible few days together at the Empact100 Showcase by Empact, an organization that focuses on creating cultures of entrepreneurship in communities around the world.

Sitting on the sidewalk on a cold street in New York City, we spent what seemed like hours talking about the butterfly effect of creating meaningful change by empowering our most precious resource - the people tackling the world’s greatest social issues. Carrie’s impassioned vision for accelerating human potential by developing and strengthening the leadership capacity of innovators focused on solving complex issues was undeniable, unforgettable and truly inspiring.

This chance encounter and moving conversation was the seed corn that blossomed into what is now our thriving Social Systems business sector at Mobius. Mobius Social Systems, our corporate social responsibility division, leads our pro-bono consulting services and the Emerging Professionals Program. Through this program, Mobius creates meaningful contributions to the communities we live and work in by creating jobs, training the emerging workforce and building sustainable local economic and social systems. We partner with charitable organizations by converting critical line volunteers into paid employees, providing economic support and job training to enable their continued contributions to these vital missions.

At a recent in-service day, Mobius employees spent an afternoon volunteering at one of our partner organizations, The Mana House, a food distribution program of the Dream Center, located in Huntsville, Alabama. The Mana House mission is to retore the lives, joy and health of those in need by replenishing their pantries and freezers. The Mobius headquarters and Huntsville-based technical staff worked right alongside the Mobius Social Systems HUBZone employees during the service project.

As we spent the day distributing supplies, an employee of Mobius Social Systems asked for a moment to speak with me. “You moved me from one side of the line to the other and it’s changed my life,” they said with pride and gratitude.

— Mobius Emerging Professional

My respect for this individual and this simple but poignant moment is just one of many examples of the ripple effect. This individual is now employed, empowered, and serving hundreds of others, from the other side of the line.

Several Huntsville residents who had been serving at Manna House have become Mobius employees. These employees report to Manna House and work at the organization serving the Huntsville community. This program has assisted the participants not only by providing much appreciated compensation, but also by providing financial literacy training, career readiness preparation, and much more.

Mobius is always seeking new charitable organizations and individuals to partner with to continue our commitment to building thriving communities. Mobius is also a proud contributor to The Global Good Fund, which has collectively invested over $125M to change the world through leadership development and fellowship programs.
